There have been a bunch of really bad parody movies lately but this one was actually pretty funny, with some excellent comic actors cast perfectly and a pretty decent script. It follows the Spiderman plot but includes other filmswell. Lots of childish humor and some great send ups of Tom Cruise, Dr. Stephen Hawking and others. Leslie Nielson in one of his better appearances of recent vintage. Not quitefunnyAirplane but definitely not Date Movie or Meet the Spartans either. Frankly, it is worth buying for 4 bucks at Blockbuster just for the "Douchebag of the Year" scene. I can not get that idiotic song of my head right now and I've been giggling like a child in my office all day.
Wow¡ i don't ever think to put this "high score" to this movie but it deserves it, is way better than meet the Spartans ( which is a very unfunny movie, to resume great waste of time). Superhero movie has almost the same structure of all the parody movies but is better than most of them, even saying that this movie is better than almost all the parodies (except scary movies) superhero movie isn't saved because it still being a trash. This is not a recommendation but if you're going to see a movie of this type you should see this one and after that you will have no desire to see the other movies. Watch the film at your own risk.
By-the-numbers screen parody fails to resurrect an increasingly tired genre.
The Extended version of Superhero Movie features not only some more violent scenes but also several new dirty jokes that aren't included in the theatrical version. Altogether this adds to a total difference of approximately 6 minutes. Just in case you're a fan of this movie the Extended version is worth a try.
